I want to talk about something that matters more than goals this year.
More than habits.
More than resolutions.
It’s…Intention.
Most people don’t live intentionally.
They live autonomously.
On autopilot. Reacting. Following scripts they never consciously agreed to.
Waking up, scrolling, working, creating, posting, consuming.
And not because they chose to, but because momentum chose for them.
And over time, that quiet automation drains something essential from you.
You don’t feel alive anymore.
Because the truth is you don’t feel alive because of outcomes.
You feel alive because of choices.
Life happens in the moment you simply “decide”.
When you intentionally show up for your work.
When you intentionally inject novelty into your craft.
When you choose presence over performance. Curiosity over safety. Truth over approval.
That’s when something wakes up inside you.
Intention is you taking the wheel back.
It’s you saying: “I am here. I am choosing this. I am not sleepwalking through my own life.”
And guess what…
What if I told you that you’re already free?
That right now, in this moment, you could make anything.
The only thing stopping you is the story you’re telling yourself about what you’re supposed to make.
That story is a ghost.
It has no body. No authority. No power outside of your belief in it.
And yet…we bow to it way too often.
We sacrifice our creative impulses because of this invisible expectation.
But you can intentionally stop.
Right now.
And as I face this truth, I feel fear creeping up.
Do you feel it too?
Because now, there’s no one to blame.
No mask to hide behind.
No safety net of limitations.
But you’ll also be free.
Free to fail.
Free to surprise yourself.
Free to discover what you’re actually capable of when you stop performing for your ghost and start being alive.
And that freedom is where this year begins.
Stay creative,
Way Walker
